If you are looking for a career in healthcare and want to work 9-5 with weekends and holidays off, then Medical Assisting is for you! Trained in both the Administrative and Clinical aspects of healthcare, Medical Assistants are multi-faceted, healthcare professionals who provide patient care directly under the supervision of a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner in ambulatory clinical settings. Medical Assistants are usually the first person to greet you when you visit your doctor, they assist the physician in treating your medical needs, provide patient education, and also make sure that after you leave the clinic, your insurance is billed correctly, prescriptions are sent to your pharmacy, and any follow-up testing is scheduled. Medical Assisting provides diverse opportunities to expand your career or continue your education in both the business and/or clinical aspects of healthcare. The goal of NTCC's Medical Assisting program is to prepare competent, entry-level medical assistants in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.

NTCC's Medical Assistant program is accredited by CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, 25400 US Highway 19 North, Suite 158, Clearwater, FL 33763. (727) 210-2350.
