Computer occupations are great field for students who either plan to transfer to a four-year college or university, or develop the knowledge and skills necessary to function as a computer applications specialist in a variety of working environments. Applied skills are developed through 鈥渉ands-on鈥 training utilizing modern computer equipment and software. Transferability and specific requirements can be determined only by the receiving institution. Curriculum is often used as a resume builder for current or potential employees.

The median annual national wages for Computer Occupations ranged from $57,000 - $130,890 in May 2020. The median state (Texas) annual wages ranged from $50,650 - $121,910. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $24,650, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $62,150.
