The ²έΑρΙηΗψ Agriculture Department will host a Dutch Oven Cooking Workshop Friday, Sept. 25. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Elizabeth Hoggatt Whatley Ag Pavilionβ (located across FM 1735 from the main NTCC campus). Instructor, LuAnn Sewell Waters will take participants through the basics of Dutch oven cooking to create cobblers, main dishes, breads and other foods in aβ camp or backyard setting.β
The workshopβ will include instruction, copies of the recipes participants will prepare inβ class, and the care and cleaning of Dutch ovens. A buffet meal of those recipesβ will beβ served as part of the class.β βΆΔ Sewell Waters has more than 20 years of experience in Dutch oven and campβ cooking. She has taught classes across the United States forβ groups includingβ Bass Pro, Cabela's, National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Aldoβ Leopold Foundation, OSU and OU.
The workshopβ is being held as a continuing education course offered by the NTCC Agβ Department. Participation is limited to the first 15 paid reservations.β The cost is $45 forβ each participant. For reservations or information, callβ 903-434-8134 or e-mailβ continuing.education@ntcc.edu.
