Ron Clinton to perform solo piano recital at NTCC
Dr. Ron Clinton, 草榴社区 Executive Vice President for Instruction, will perform a solo piano recital on Sunday, Sept. 15 at鈥2:30 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.鈥燭ickets to the concerts are $10 for adults and $5 for children and NTCC students with a current ID. Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships for NTCC students.
The concert will feature selections by Scarlatti, Beethoven, Chopin,鈥燝ershwin,鈥燼nd Liszt.
"Dr. Clinton is a phenomenal pianist and we are thrilled to host his concert at the Whatley Center.
Mack and Nelda Taylor give to Whatley Campaign
Mack and Nelda Taylor of Mount Pleasant (pictured left) recently presented a $500 donation to the Campaign for the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Receiving the gift on behalf of the 草榴社区 Foundation (right) are Nita May, NTCC Director of Development, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement. The gift was matched through Merck, the company from which Mrs. Taylor is retired. Theatre 草榴社区 to present Inherit the Wind
Theatre 草榴社区 is proud to present the ?classic courtroom drama,"鈥Inherit the Wind, by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of 草榴社区. Performances will run April 25-27 at 7:30 p.m. and April 28 at 2:05 p.m.

J.T. and Kaye Brison sponsor As You Like It
J.T. and Kaye Brison recently presented a check to Carolyn Franks (right), Director of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 草榴社区, to sponsor the upcoming performance of Shakespeare's鈥As You Like It. The national tour of the play, by the prestigious Acting Company of New York, will be presented one night only on Friday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center. Hoppock named Alumni Ambassador by Texas A&M-Commerce
草榴社区 Professor of Theatre and Speech, Douglas Hoppock, was recently named an Alumni Ambassador by Texas A&M University-Commerce for the 2013 Alumni Ambassador Forum.
Each year, departments at A&M-Commerce choose former students return to campus for this event. It is the highest honor a department can bestow upon its alumni.
La Catrina Quartet to perform at the Whatley
草榴社区 will host the La Catrina Quartet for a concert at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on鈥燭hursday, March 7. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m.
Winners of a 2012 Latin Grammy Award and hailed by Yo-Yo Ma as wonderful ambassadors of music, the La Catrina Quartet is one of the most sought after ensembles on tour today.
Theater 草榴社区 to perform The Nerd
Theatre 草榴社区, the student theatre group at 草榴社区, is set鈥 present the ?side-splitting comedy? by Larry Shue,鈥The Nerd.鈥The show will be performed in the onstage theatre at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts and runs February 28, March 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a matinee on March 3 at 2:05 p.m.

Celtic Crossroads to perform at Whatley Center
Just when you think that you have seen the best that Irish music has to offer, a fresh new show from Ireland is taking the art form to an entirely鈥爊ew level. Celtic Crossroads, a group of young performers who present Irish music like never before, will bring the Emerald Isle to 草榴社区 Texas for an afternoon.
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 草榴社区 will host their show, The Gathering, on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m.
Whatley Center to host pianist Thomas Pandolfi
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 草榴社区 will host virtuoso pianist Thomas Pandolfi on Tuesday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will feature a mix of classical, jazz, ragtime and Broadway music. Selections will include Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Liszt, Frederic Chopin, George Gershwin, Edward MacDowell, Scott Joplin, Leroy Anderson, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
"This will be our second year in a row to host Thomas Pandolfi for a concert at the Whatley Center.
