²ÝÁñÉçÇø offers a wide variety of Physical Education options either online or face-to-face that meet the core curriculum requirements of universities in Texas. Physical Education classes are designed to appeal to all levels of physical activity. Hundreds of students, staff, and area residents attend these classes every semester.  We are dedicated to promote, encourage, and enrich the physical well-being of individuals. Physical education provides opportunities for students to gain current knowledge of physical fitness facts, healthful living practices, leisure time pursuits, stress management techniques, and to receive instruction in the skills necessary for successful participation in activities necessary for optimum health and physical efficiency. We also offer a major in Human Performance designed to prepare students to finish their degrees anywhere in the United States.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

Two hours of Physical Education (PHED) Activity or Wellness for a Lifetime (PHED 1164) are REQUIRED to graduate from NTCC for the following majors:

  • English
  • General Studies
  • History
  • Government
  • Spanish
  • Journalism

Physical Education majors may take up to eight activity courses that fit into their 60 hour core-curriculum degree plan.

Many PHED classes such as Walking PHED 1134, Body conditioning PHED 1117, Weight training PHED 1114, and Weight training/aerobics PHED 1112 MAY BE PERFORMED AS AN INDEPENDENT STUDY.

PHED 1136: Spinning Class at 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon on Mon/Wed
PHED 1136: Spinning Class at 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Tue/Th
PHED 1146: Fitness Boxing at 9:30 a.m. Mon/Wed
PHED 1120: Karate at 9:30 a.m. Tue/Th
PHED 1105: Tennis 11:00 a.m. Tue/Th
