Apply to Nursing Program


Nursing Applications Open October 1st through February 1st.

Admissions Criteria

The admissions procedure is based on a point system utilizing the following criteria:

  • Grade Points: Based on final grade in required pre-requisite courses. (Successful completion of required pre-requisite courses with a grade of 鈥淐鈥 or higher)
  • TEAS Scores:  58.7% Required for acceptance into program
  • Response to questions included on nursing application
  • Response to face-to-face interview with nursing faculty
  • Health Care experience (not required)

Application Process

  • If you are currently not a NTCC student you will need to apply to NTCC once you are accepted into the nursing program.
     
  • Three Required Pre-Requisite Courses: Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Lifespan Growth and Development 
     
  • Complete application to vocational nursing program
     
  • Unofficial Transcript: (s): Upload with application 
    Note: NTCC Registrar requires official transcript
     
  • TEAS Test Results: The final score is to be uploaded with application
     
  • Course in Progress Form (s): If you are enrolled in one of the required courses during application cycle, please print this form from the website and have current instructor fill it out and turn in with all other required documents.

    • Anatomy and Physiology I and II 
    • Intro to Microbiology
    • Intro to Statistics
       
  • Concurrent Courses: 

    • English I
    • Intro to Ethics
    • Lifespan Growth and Development
       

    NOTE: ALL courses must be completed prior to graduation
     

  • Complete appropriate application to nursing program
     
  • Unofficial Transcript: (s): Upload with application

  • TEAS Test Results: The final score is to be uploaded with application; must be 58.7% or above for acceptance into nursing program.

Steps to Applying to Nursing at NTCC

  1. Students must first Apply to NTCC. (NTCC Student ID# is required to apply to nursing)
  2. Submit official transcripts to the registrar's office and have unofficial transcripts ready to upload
  3. TEAS scores for Traditional/Transition program applicants ready to upload
  4. Have at least 2 letter of reference to upload 
  5. For Transition students, need to upload a copy of nursing or paramedic license


* In Addition to your online application, you will be required to mail in or hand deliver in a manila envelope/folder all uploaded documents to NTCC Nursing Department.*

Prepare your answers to these questions below before you begin the application process. Because the form must be completed within a 45 minute time frame, applicants should review the documents and note the questions below before you begin.

  • If you had the opportunity to start your education all over again, knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?
  • Have you ever had any experiences in the health care field? Describe
  • What do you see yourself doing in the next 10 years?
  • Describe two (2) things that you have done in your lifetime of which you are most proud

Transition VN/Paramedic to ADN Deadline: February 1st
Associate Traditional ADN RN Deadline: February 1st
VN Certificate Deadline: February 1st
 

 

 

 

All applications received by the deadlines above will be reviewed and considered for the upcoming program cohorts. Applications received after the deadlines may be considered on a first come, first served basis if space is available in the cohort.
