The transfer support team will be hosting an event with UT Tyler Thursday, July 26 in the SUB 101 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.†The event is to help NTCC students be informed about what degrees UT Tyler offers and what requirements are needed for each degree.

The Adult Education Department at �������� is accepting new†and returning†students for its GED (General Educational Development) and ESL (English as a Second Language) programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs†should call to make an appointment for registration. †While classes are offered in various convenient locations around the area, all registration will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N. Riddle Street in Mount Pleasant.

This Summer, August 13-17, the scholars of Honors �������� will film their annual cinematic production on a figure of regional interest.† This year?s subject, �������� Texas heroine, Barbara Smith Conrad, suffered through a bruising discrimination case at the University of Texas at Austin in 1957.† The university president at that time, Dr.

�������� and Texas A&M University-Texarkana recently signed articulation agreements for the following 2+2 degree plans. These allow students to take the first two years of courses at NTCC and transfer seamlessly to A&M-Texarkana to complete a bachelor's degree.

The �������� Continuing Education Department is offering two great new classes this summer. Introduction to Drone Technology is a four-day course for ages 10-16. It is designed to teach students how to safely operate drones and will focus on operating them within the rules and regulations of the FAA. Topics will include basic operation and maintenance, programming and flying skills. The class will be held July 30 through August 2 from 8 a.m. to noon on the main NTCC campus. Drones and other equipment are provided in class.

The �������� Continuing Education department recently held a pinning ceremony for graduates from the Pharmacy Technician program.†The eight-month certificate program consists of lecture, lab and internship training for students to become Community Pharmacy Technicians in a retail pharmacy environment.†In addition to accepting adult students, the program is offered through dual credit with some area high schools.†It emphasizes the practical application of pharmacy mathematics, pharmaceutical terminology, drug packaging and labeling, dosage preparation, inventory systems

Former Lieutenant Governor Bill Ratliff was honored last week at the �������� Texas Consortium of Colleges and Universities (NetNet) summer conference held on the �������� Campus. Ratliff was recognized for being a driving catalyst in the formation of the consortium in the 1990s while serving on the Texas Legislature. NetNet is the collaborative effort of 13 higher education institutions to bring state-of-the-art technology and a wide range of instruction to 50 rural �������� Texas counties.
