Adult Education accepting students for free GED, ESL classes
The Adult Education Department at 草榴社区 is accepting new鈥燼nd returning鈥爏tudents for its GED (General Educational Development) and ESL (English as a Second Language) programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs鈥爏hould call to make an appointment for registration. 鈥燱hile classes are offered in various convenient locations around the area, all registration will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N. Riddle Street in Mount Pleasant.
Honors 草榴社区 seeks actors for film project
This Summer, August 13-17, the scholars of Honors 草榴社区 will film their annual cinematic production on a figure of regional interest.鈥 This year?s subject, 草榴社区 Texas heroine, Barbara Smith Conrad, suffered through a bruising discrimination case at the University of Texas at Austin in 1957.鈥 The university president at that time, Dr.
NTCC signs new 2+2 agreements with A&M-Texarkana
草榴社区 and Texas A&M University-Texarkana recently signed articulation agreements for the following 2+2 degree plans. These allow students to take the first two years of courses at NTCC and transfer seamlessly to A&M-Texarkana to complete a bachelor's degree.
Continuing Education offers summer courses for kids and adults
The 草榴社区 Continuing Education Department is offering two great new classes this summer. Introduction to Drone Technology is a four-day course for ages 10-16. It is designed to teach students how to safely operate drones and will focus on operating them within the rules and regulations of the FAA. Topics will include basic operation and maintenance, programming and flying skills. The class will be held July 30 through August 2 from 8 a.m. to noon on the main NTCC campus. Drones and other equipment are provided in class.
NTCC holds pinning ceremony for Pharmacy Tech grads
The 草榴社区 Continuing Education department recently held a pinning ceremony for graduates from the Pharmacy Technician program.鈥燭he eight-month certificate program consists of lecture, lab and internship training for students to become Community Pharmacy Technicians in a retail pharmacy environment.鈥營n addition to accepting adult students, the program is offered through dual credit with some area high schools.鈥營t emphasizes the practical application of pharmacy mathematics, pharmaceutical terminology, drug packaging and labeling, dosage preparation, inventory systems
NTCC hosts NetNet Conference, Ratliff honored
Former Lieutenant Governor Bill Ratliff was honored last week at the 草榴社区 Texas Consortium of Colleges and Universities (NetNet) summer conference held on the 草榴社区 Campus. Ratliff was recognized for being a driving catalyst in the formation of the consortium in the 1990s while serving on the Texas Legislature. NetNet is the collaborative effort of 13 higher education institutions to bring state-of-the-art technology and a wide range of instruction to 50 rural 草榴社区 Texas counties.
