ITTC to add CNC Operator certificate

The eighth annual 草榴社区 Texas Poetry Contest and Reading is again open to the public.鈥 Amateur, accomplished or aspiring poets of any age are welcome to submit their best poem on the topic of life in 草榴社区 Texas.鈥燩oets are encouraged to accent or enliven the sense of the surroundings, the people, the culture or the history of our region.鈥燭he deadline date for submission is August 28 at noon. Cypress Bank-Lone Star supports Honors 草榴社区
Cypress Bank-Lone Star recently presented a high-end laptop for the use of 草榴社区 Honors students. This year?s recipient, Cruz Gallegos (pictured center), was the 2015 Valedictorian at Daingerfield High School. Dr. Andrew Yox, Honors Director (left) and Billie Sue Hanson, Cypress Bank-Lone Star Vice President (right) are pictured making the presentation. Cypress, the oldest Camp County-based bank, also has branches in Mount Pleasant and Commerce.鈥 Combined, Cypress Bank has provided this service to NTCC?s top students yearly since 2008.
NTCC ads orientation date
Due to increased demand, 草榴社区 will add an additional date for new students to attend myEagle Orientation. Any first-time student who has not yet attended orientation and plans to take classes at NTCC this fall should make plans to sign up for this final session on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
The event begins in the Student Union Building (SUB) at 8 a.m. and will last until approximately鈥1:30鈥爌.m.

Progressive Women's Organization gives $1,000 to Whatley Campaign
The Progressive Women's Organization of Mount Pleasant recently gave $1,000 to support the 草榴社区 Campaign for the Whatley. Their gift will sponsor a theatre seat in honor of their organization and one in memory of Verner Cornelius. Members from the group are pictured presenting a check to Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center (third from right).
NTCC board approves bond issuance, hires construction manager
The 草榴社区 Board of Trustees approved the issuance of limited tax bonds not to exceed $10 million at a special meeting July 14. This will allow NTCC to begin work on the campus renewal plan that voters approved in May.
NTCC signs partnership with Texas A&M-Texarkana
草榴社区 and Texas A&M University-Texarkana officials signed a dual admissions agreement today at 草榴社区, formalizing a partnership benefitting students who wish to attain baccalaureate degrees. Officials also signed a financial aid consortium allowing NTCC and A&M-Texarkana students to be concurrently enrolled without disruption to their financial aid award.

Texas Pioneer Foundation supports NTCC Work Scholarship Program
The Texas Pioneer Foundation recently awarded a $40,000 grant to support the Work Scholarship Program at 草榴社区. Fred Markham, Executive Director of the Texas Pioneer Foundation (left), presents a check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement. 鈥The Texas Pioneer Foundation is a private independent foundation that works to provide financial support for programs that will improve the quality and results of education for all Texas students.
NTCC Softball third in the nation for academics
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recently announced that the 草榴社区 Eagles Softball team ranked third in the nation for team grade point average. The team held a 3.52 GPA for the 2014-2015 school year.
Head softball coach, Jessica Keith, said that academics are always a priority for her team.
"Our students are here first and foremost to get an education.
