Eagles baseball splits with Paris

Thanks to a strong sixth inning in Saturday's first game, the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Eagles (NTCC) baseball team pulled out a 9-5 win over Paris Junior College before dropping the second game 3-2, bringing the Eagles to 17-10 overall with 12 games remaining in the regular season.

Medical assistant and coding informational sessions planned

The ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Medical Assistant and Medical Coding programs will host two informational sessions for prospective students April 9 and April 20. Anyone interested in pursuing a career as a medical assistant or medical coder are invited to attend. Both sessions will be from 6-7 p.m. in room 245 of the University Health Science Building on the main NTCC campus. For more information, call Julie Smith at 903-434-8124.

Tommy Lee Biker Run donates $5,000 for NTCC scholarships

The ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Foundation recently received a gift for $5,000. These funds were raised at the annual Tommy Lee Memorial Biker Run and will be used to provide scholarships to Camp County students attending NTCC. Two Presidential Scholars win essay awards

²ÝÁñÉçÇø Presidential Scholars Isaac Burris and Morgan Capps both received top awards during the recent meeting of the Texas State Historical Association (TSHA)† in Corpus Christi.

At a session of the Walter Webb Society on March 7, the collegiate auxiliary of the TSHA, Capps won second†place and $300 for her essay on Ma and Pa Ferguson, a Texas gubernatorial couple during the early 20th century.† Isaac Burris won fourth†place and $75 for his essay on the dynamics of Sam Houston?s friendship with his slave, Jeff Hamilton.
