The NTCC Work4College Program is so much more than just a job! In addition to doing meaningful work on campus, W4C students also take a class that covers a variety of topics that help them as they transition into adulthood. These past two weeks they have focused on learning proper etiquette and became CPR certified.

Since 2008, the honors program of NTCC has published a biannual newsletter.  The recently released 2023 July edition can be accessed here on the college website. One can also write Honors Director, Dr. Andrew P. Yox, for a real copy at ayox@ntcc.edu.

The �������� Professional Driving Academy continues to grow and supply high-demand CDL drivers to the local area. Two new students recently graduated from the program. Clara Ramirez, NTCC’s pioneer winner of the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship in 2010, recently won a residency at Duke University as a primary-care Administrative Fellow.  She is moving this summer from her home in Fort Worth to Durham, North Carolina to assume her new role.

Seven members of Alpha Mu Chi, NTCC’s five-star, award-winning chapter of Phi Theta Kappa attended the Texas Honors Institute (THI) held at Tyler Junior College from July 14th through July 16th. The theme of the conference was “Play it forward, Change the World.”

The 2023 Discovery Kids College wrapped up on Thursday, July 20th. More than 100 kids participated in 16 classes over the past two weeks. While all of the courses were designed to be fun, they were also educational in nature.

“These kids have had a blast becoming drone pilots, building robots, learning to save lives and so much more,” Jimmy Smith, Director of Continuing Education and Corporate Training, said. “It is really rewarding to see them having a great time on our campus and we hope to see them again as college students in the future.”

The �������� Cosmetology program recently took a trip to Ignite Youth Club in Mount Pleasant to share their expertise with local kids. The students gave a general hygiene lesson, taught basic hairstyling techniques and nail art.
