Whatley Employee Enhancement grant winners announced
The ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Foundation announced the winners of the 2013-2014 Whatley Employment Enhancement Awards this week. Seven out of the 20 proposals were chosen for funding.

²ÝÁñÉçÇø recently presented its annual Employee Service Awards at a special holiday luncheon. Pictured below are those who were honored for their respective years of service:

NTCC bad weather procedure
It is that time of year when the weather can be unpredictable in this area. ²ÝÁñÉçÇø wants to make sure that all students and employees have access to timely, accurate information regarding possible weather-related closures.
In case of bad weather, the decision to close or not will usually be made by 6 a.m. for day classes and by 3 p.m. for evening classes.
Charlie and Helen Hampton give scholarship
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie and Helen Hampton (right) recently gave $500 to the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Foundation. Their gift will provide a scholarship to a Morris County student attending NTCC. They are pictured presenting the gift to Dr. Jonathan McCullough (left), NTCC Vice President for Advancement. For more information about scholarships contact McCullough at 903-434-8115.
Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery give $1,300 to support NTCC honors projects
Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery (pictured left) recently gave a $1,300 gift to the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Foundation. The funds will be used for the NTCC Whatley Employee Enhancement Fund, specifically for the Honors program to help with their production of a film based on the life of Harriet Potter Ames, the Feminist Legend of the American Revolution, and with the Presidential Scholars Program for their research and documentation of the Caddo Collection owned by NTCC.
NTCC students participate in disaster training
†††Students and faculty members from the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø LVN Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, and Medical Assisting programs recently got hands-on, real world training as they participated in a disaster preparation exercise in Atlanta, Texas. The full-scale, 72-hour exercise was directed by Homeland Security and in conjunction with the ArkTex Council of Governments.
†††The goal of the event was to give members of disaster teams, including first responders, a chance to find out how to function in a crisis situation.

Pepsi gives $15,000 to NTCC
Pepsi recently made a $15,000 contribution to ²ÝÁñÉçÇø. The funds were designated to benefit the NTCC Eagles Athletic program. Ms. Beth Thompson (right), NTCC Vice President for Administrative Services, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement, received the gift on the college's behalf.
