Adult Education conducts training at ITTC

The ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Adult Education department recently hosted a three-hour training session for 22 adult education teachers. The seminar was entitled Goal-Driven Instruction for Adult Learners and was held at the newly established Industrial Technology Training Center (ITTC) located in Mt. Pleasant. Through numerous training activities, teachers were taught how to create and implement a Student Learning Plan (SLP) for all students and how to differentiate between personal and National Reporting System (NRS) goals.

SIFE to host 5K Reindeer Run/Walk

The Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) organization at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø will host a 5K Reindeer Run/Walk event on Saturday, Dec. 10. The run will be held on the NTCC campus and begins at 8 a.m.

Registration will be held in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the NTCC campus from 7:00-7:30 a.m. The cost to participate is $25 for all ages, and includes a t-shirt and a pancake breakfast after the run.

Theatre ²ÝÁñÉçÇø presents children's play

Theatre ²ÝÁñÉçÇø, the student theatre group at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø, will present the classic children's Christmas comedy†The Best Christmas Pageant Ever December 3 and 4 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

An evening performance will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. and there will be a 2:05 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Dec. 4.†Ticket prices are $5 for Adults, $3 for ages 17 and under, Sr. Citizens, NTCC Faculty and free for NTCC students with current ID.

Farm Fashioned Recipe: Fried Okra Salad

Submitted by René McCracken, NTCC Ag Director Our Fall 2018 semester is kicking off this week at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø.  It’s hard to believe that fall season is just around the corner and the pumpkin spice ‘everything’ will soon start lining the shelves, especially with 100 degree temperatures still with us. The last of summer has most gardens past their prime. However with the use of shade and heaving mulching we have managed to still be harvesting tomatoes, bell peppers and of course okra.

Debbie Strong and Kerry Wootten to Speak at the 11th Annual ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Texas Poetry Contest

Submitted by Dr. Andrew Yox, NTCC Honors Director The Eleventh Annual ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Texas Poetry Reading on Friday, 7 September at 11 AM will again occur at the Foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø campus.  The public is invited for this free event.  This year in addition to readings of the highest ranked poems of the adult and student divisions—by the winners—Debbie Strong and Kerry Wootten Esq.

NTCC parking permits to be enforced

For the safety and security of NTCC, all students, faculty and staff are required to display a parking permit on their vehicle while on campus. Security officers will enforce this by issuing warnings beginning September 4. Citations with fines will follow the warning period. Parking permits are FREE. Student permits are issued in the Student Services building and employees can pick them up from the Human Resources department. Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe for everyone!
