Theatre to present "The Importance of Being Earnest" April 24th-26th

The 草榴社区 Theatre Department invites the community to a delightful evening of wit and charm with its spring production of The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde鈥檚 celebrated comedic masterpiece. Performances will be held at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts April 24th-26th at 7 p.m. with a special 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, April 26th.

Art department hosts student artist reception, announces contest winners

The 草榴社区 Art Department is currently hosting its annual Student Art Show in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. This week, a reception was held to honor all of the artists and announce contest winners. The gallery is open to the public during regular business hours and the show will be on display through April 29th.

Culinary Arts hosting "A Taste of Hawaii" lunch on May 1st

Experience the vibrant flavors of the islands as 草榴社区鈥檚 Culinary Arts program presents 鈥淎 Taste of Hawaii鈥 on Wednesday, May 1, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the NTCC Culinary Arts school in downtown Pittsburg (114 Jefferson Street).

Student art exhibit on display through April 29th

The 草榴社区 Art Department will hold its annual student art show from Thursday, April 3rd through Tuesday, April 29th in the foyer gallery of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The exhibit will feature student artworks in design, drawing, ceramics, photography, and digital media.  A reception will be held Wednesday, April 9th in the Whatley Center foyer at 12:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come, meet our amazing students, and enjoy the exhibit.

Biology students travel to Arkansas for field research

Three NTCC Biology 2389 students, Gracie Gray, Isabel Tresidder, and Stephanie Hernandez, and Dr. Chris T. McAllister, Biology, traveled to the Ouachita Mountains Biological Station (OMBS), Big Fork, Arkansas, March 21-23, 2025, to continue their research on fish parasites from the Ouachita River watershed.  What they believe to be a new species of myxosporean was discovered on the gills of a northern hogsucker fish, and another on the fin of a green sunfish.
